Greetings Gardena Panthers! I am your assistant principal over school counseling services and the Linked Learning Silver Certified MSA Medical Services Academy. I am excited to be here and look forward to working alongside our students, parents, community, and staff to make positive contributions to our Gardena school community.
A little bit about me: I have served the LAUSD students and community for over 20 years. After teaching for approximately 13 years, I became an ELD coordinator, ELD instructional coach, and later an academic counselor. Now I am pleased to be here at Gardena to serve the Gardena Community of Schools as an administrator over counseling services. I feel extremely fortunate to have had all these experiences because they have taught me a lot about education through various lenses. Because there is always room for growth, I look forward to learning how to better serve the community in and around GHS.
I began my journey at GHS in the middle of a pandemic, and since then I've had an opportunity to collaborate with various students, community groups, and staff members to safely bring our students back to on-site instruction. Now, our task is to fully re-engage our students in meeting Gardena High's 1, 2, 3s: 100% attendance for all, 100% graduation for all with a C or better in each A-G course, and 100% parent and student engagement.
